Western Australia’s environmental agency (EPA) has just recommended that Woodside’s massive North West Shelf gas processing facility be extended. This means Woodside would be allowed to keep operating it until 2070. If approved, the extension would pump out 4.3 billion tonnes of pollution from climate-wrecking gas – equal to 8 years of Australia’s current annual emissions.
What’s worse - the extension would pave the way for Woodside to open up the dangerous Browse gas fields, in Western Australia’s beautiful oceans.
