In keeping with our policy of open and fair hiring we compile a list of selection criteria and convene a selection panel for each job opportunity. The selection criteria are based on skills, competencies, knowledge and outputs required by the position as stated in the job description.

All our advertising will point interested parties to the jobs page on our website where positions vacant are advertised. Here applicants can view full details of the job description including the selection criteria and salary.

All applicants applying for positions with Greenpeace Australia Pacific must address the selection criteria in the job description. The best way of doing this is to include in your application a list of the selection criteria and how you meet each one. This can be in the form of a separate document, a cover page on the front of your resume or in the body of your email application, as long as you have included it. This assists the members of the selection panel to accurately assess each applicant’s suitability for the position and decide who will be called for interview.

Shortly after the closing date for applications the panel will have a discussion on which applicants to shortlist and invite for interview. The interviews will be with all members of the panel. All applicants will be asked a standard list of questions based on the job description and may also involve a test.

Interviewees will be graded on their answers to these questions, along with their motivation, presentation and communication skills, experience and suitability for the job. The most suitable applicant will be notified and two appropriate referees will be contacted before an offer of employment is made.

Due to staffing levels and the nature of our organisation we are only able to provide feedback to those applicants who have been interviewed. Therefore if you apply for a position with us and don’t hear back within a month then you can assume that your application has not been successful at this time.

In line with the above policy, Greenpeace Australia Pacific does not keep details of individuals on file for future jobs.

Before submitting your application please view our Human Resources Privacy Policy.
