Greenpeace has commissioned independent polling that confirms climate change number one issue on voters’ minds

Independent polling commissioned by Greenpeace shows that in the week after Scott Morrison released his plan to tackle emissions global warming is the number one issue for voters and more than 60 per cent think the plan is insufficient. More than half of voters would also be less likely to vote for a party that uses taxpayer money to subsidise coal projects.

  • Polling showed the following:
  • 2PP showing Labor ahead 53/47
  • Global warming is now the number one issue for voters, slightly ahead of the economy at 23.8% to 23.0%
  • Voters think the Liberal party’s plan for addressing emissions is insufficient at a rate of 61.6% to 38.4%
  • 55.8% of voters would be less likely to vote for a party that uses taxpayer money to subsidise coal projects.
