We had many reasons to be excited about last week’s premiere of ‘The End of the Line’.

We couldn’t wait to see reactions to this compelling documentary. It is a mind-blowing film that reveals overfishing as one of the biggest environmental issues of our time. It’s screening for a limited season across Australia.

We also wanted to get our three dimensional canned tuna guide set up at the Dendy cinema near the Opera House in Sydney. (We’ll use any opportunity to promote our guide that helps shoppers avoid the most destructively caught and overfished tuna.) And we were keen to find out how any people join the calls (7800 and counting so far) for our supermarkets to stop selling overfished tuna after seeing this film.

We were also looking forward to meeting the celebrities, foodies and a-list guests who said they would be coming to support ‘The End of the Line’.

We weren’t disappointed. Journalists with the reach to spread the word about the impact of overfishing, famous chefs such as Stefano Manfredi and ocean-loving celebrities such as Annalise Braakensiek and the Bondi Surf Rescue team all came to the premiere. What a turn out.

And the response? The film got the thumbs up. We thought the guys from Bondi Rescue managed to sum up reactions to the documentary well. They said it was ‘eye-opening’ and ‘awesome’.

‘The End of the Line’ is showing for a very limited season across Australia from Monday May 10. It exposes the true impact of overfishing on people and the environment and has sparked a global movement to save our oceans. Trailer, information and screening details are here.
