Defend WA’s Nature
In WA we are blessed with some of the most spectacular landscapes and unique wildlife on earth.

WA’s nature is like nowhere else on Earth
Western Australia is a special place, home to unique ecosystems like the Ningaloo and the Kimberley, the South West forests and of course – the beloved quokkas!
We know that when WA’s nature thrives, we all thrive. Healthy forests, thriving wetlands and clean, safe waterways and air are essential to our well-being.

A strong Western Australian economy needs a thriving environment.
Many of the industries that Western Australians work in – agriculture, tourism, fisheries, mining—directly rely on the services nature provides everyday, and contribute billions of dollars to our economy.
Western Australians love nature, and expect their elected leaders to protect WA’s most beautiful, precious natural treasures.
… and it’s under serious threat
From record-breaking heat waves to the collapse of beloved forest ecosystems due to drought, to breakneck rates of deforestation, our ecosystems are in trouble, and need better legal protections.
The mining lobby and their vested interests want to continue getting away with damaging behaviours and very little scrutiny.

Canberra thinks Western Australians don’t care
This year big mining pushed the WA Government to call the Prime Minister and demand he shelve once in a generation reforms to Australia’s national environment laws.
Those important nature reforms were shelved because the WA and Federal Government thought West Australians would turn a blind eye. They thought they wouldn’t have to defend WA’s nature.
We urgently need strong national nature laws and an independent environment watchdog to turn the tide on nature destruction.
This election we are calling on our representatives to Defend WA’s Nature.
We are calling on our federal representatives to Defend WA’s Nature and stand up for strong new national nature laws and an independent Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) in the next term of Government.
Western Australians want and deserve elected leaders who will heed the science, stand up to vested interests, and act decisively to prioritise and protect nature.
What You Can Do
Together, we won’t let fossil fuel and mining companies dictate Australia’s nature laws. We’re demanding that all parties make these critical nature law reforms a priority in the first 100 days of parliament.

Western Australia can be a Renewable Energy Powerhouse
Western Australia is the only state where emissions are still rising. We don’t need more polluting gas. We need leadership.

Tell your MP to protect our forests
Right now, the Albanese Government is rewriting our national nature law. It is a once-in-a-generation chance to protect forests and wildlife. Tell the government to protect our forests with a strong nature law.

Our wildlife needs your urgent action
Australia’s native forests and animals are in crisis. We call on PM Anthony Albanese and his government to become a world leader in forest protection and act swiftly to protect our threatened native environment. We call on the Australian Federal Government to implement strong environmental protection laws to end deforestation in Australia by 2025.
