Big Gas Is Destroying our planet
The gas industry is polluting our oceans and driving the breakdown of our climate — multinational companies profit while we pay the price with higher bills, destructive bushfires and floods.
This is a pivotal moment. There are currently 18 new gas projects seeking approval, and 12 more waiting to start. That would lock us in to many more decades of climate destruction - all for gas we don't even need...
We have a narrow window to act.

Tell Albo to Stop Big Gas
Prime Minister Albanese, we are calling on you to:
- Uphold your climate commitments: stop approving new projects that drive dangerous climate change.
- Put communities before corporate profits, by making sure the gas currently drilled in Australia, stays in Australia for short-term domestic use.
- Tax gas companies properly so that they can cover the costs of the damage they cause.

GAS IS A CLIMATE DESTROYER
Just like coal, gas is a dirty fossil fuel that pollutes our air and oceans, destroys the environment, and drives climate disasters in Australia and around the world. The science is clear — more gas is not compatible with a safe future for our communities, our environment or our economy.
Fossil fuels like gas contribute to worse bushfires that put people and livelihoods at risk, while the process of extraction harms wildlife and oceans that sustain coastal communities.
Despite what Woodside or Santos might have you believe, we don’t need more gas – we have renewable energy solutions and more than enough already for industries who need it while we transition away from fossil fuels. As one of the sunniest, windiest countries in the world, Australia can be a global leader in green industry and exports, all without destroying the planet.
Will you help push the Australian Government to break free from Big Gas' dirty influence?

What is big gaS?
Operating just like Big Tobacco, Big Gas is a powerful network of billionaires, companies, lobbyists and industry groups who use sophisticated strategies to protect their profits by delaying the transition away from fossil fuels. From million dollar ad campaigns to quiet meetings in Canberra, Big Gas is fighting to keep Australia and the world hooked on its dirty gas.
To undermine their power, we're standing up to powerful lobby groups, like the Business Council of Australia (BCA) and Australian Energy Producers (AEP), who are promoting more gas expansion and blocking climate action.
We need corporations and the government alike to stand up to Big Gas and support the transition away from fossil fuels so we can uphold our international climate commitments.
Gas Corporations in Australia Export 80% of our gas and pay barely any tax.
Ordinary people are paying more for energy than ever before, while Big Gas gets a free ride. Nurses pay more tax than oil and gas companies!
Australia's gas corporations export around 80% of our gas overseas for massive profit. Meanwhile everyday people pay the price with soaring energy bills, and climate disasters like floods and fires.
If more gas was reserved for domestic use, we’d have more than enough from existing projects and no need to drill for any more. We need a plan to conserve what we have while we transition away from gas, not lock in new polluting projects that are destroying our climate and environment.
It’s time to say no to new gas projects.
