SYDNEY - 19 January 2024 - With a Federal Parliamentary inquiry now established to examine the impact and opportunities of electric vehicles in Australia, Greenpeace Australia Pacific has again today urged the Federal Government to introduce long-overdue legislation to enact a strong Fuel Efficiency Standard.
SYDNEY, Thursday 14 December 2023 – Greenpeace Australia Pacific has today welcomed the Federal Government's decision to tighten the criteria for cars to be considered a ‘fuel-efficient vehicle’ under the luxury car tax (LCT), a change which will mean Australians will no longer subsidise the purchase of expensive, petrol powered cars.
