Big Oil is trying to silence the climate movement
This horrifying verdict is not the end - we will fight Big Oil all the way to victory. Greenpeace in the US has already announced that it will be appealing the decision, and Greenpeace International has brought a lawsuit against Energy Transfer in the Netherlands to counter this SLAPP suit.

Why Did Energy Transfer Sue Greenpeace?
Energy Transfer decided to sue Greenpeace in the US and Greenpeace International as part of a response to an Indigenous-led peaceful protest at Standing Rock opposing the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, operated by Energy Transfer.
This is a prime example of a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP) - lawsuits designed to silence free speech and expression!
Energy Transfer’s SLAPP lawsuit isn’t just an attack on Greenpeace, but on groups and individuals around the globe who want to speak out and fight for a better future. These legal bully tactics are alarming, but we won’t let them silence us.

We will not be bullied!
Greenpeace has been around for 50 years. We have been bombed, sued, shot at, mocked, arrested, insulted and laughed at. But in that time, we do what we do. We have secured monumental environmental wins all over the world.
We will not be silenced and we will not go away. Will you help defend Greenpeace?

Greenpeace is 100% funded by people just like you
Did you know: We don’t take any money from government or corporations, allowing us to stay fiercely independent in our fight for a greener, more peaceful future.
