Australia also faces a growing drought problem as climate change intensifies. In 2009, cities like Sydney on the eastern seaboard were hit by a massive dust storm caused by drought conditions inland.

In Delhi, the monsoon season has become more erratic than ever and important rainfall periods (called 'squalls') have stopped, leaving the city dry. Some estimates say that by 2017, 15 million people will be without water in the capital city.
