Welcome to the epicentre of global warming
These are the words of glaciologist Jason Box in this breathtaking video of meltwater flow into a glacier’s moulin in Greenland.
Dr Box and physicist Basil Singer are in Greenland to measure the rate at which this glacier is metling. A moulin is a shaft through which surface water, such as meltwater, enters a glacier. They found that, in just one day, 42 million litres of fresh water drained down this one moulin.
Asks Singer: “On a scale of one to 10, how serious is this melt issue?”
“Eleven,” Box responds.
Take a look.

If this problem on a scale 1-10 is an 11 or 12, it really amazes me that this can actually happen. Thankyou for being able to show me this, this has opened my eyes a whole lot more than they were before i watched this film. I am just thinking that with all this water there will be widespread distaster for islands in the pacific seeing as their villages are so close to sea level. we all need to do something about this.
Thanks
