This issue is one of the greatest challenges facing us today, the switch to green energy and reusable and recycled materials is one of the best changes we can make, it will greatly improve our lives and the lives of others, it will boost the job market, and prove that we have the foresight to look to the future for our children. The environment is an issue that should be a very high priority as it affects us all, and will continue to do so long after not only we, but our great grandchildren are in there graves. please show the world we care, that we can do something, and make a difference.

Embracing the target of 40-50% is vital to our climate, and, there are real economic advantages to moving rapidly into renewable technologies. We have the capability to shift the coal industry into a new role, out of coal and into renewable sources of power, and to provide retraining and employment. Same with logging: to move from industries that are not supportive of our climate, society or economy, into industries that are. From every perspective, environmental, economic and moral, Australia benefits from taking a leadership role in this arena. Once engaged in moving toward a goal, Australians can move with great agility and inspire others around the world. Failure to act urgently to this level depresses people as they know stronger targets are needed, and impacts immensely in our social, economic and physical environment. We require your leadership to take a very strong stand on emissions targets, to make the target what is needed, not what is 'convenient' to accomplish a safe climate for humankind. Australians and others will rise with you to address this challenge.
