The Coke-funded Beverage Council of Australia is running a massive advertising campaign to stop our politicians adopting the popular and proven Cash for Containers scheme.
It's highly misleading, based entirely on a report so inaccurate it was dismissed by an Australian Senate committee for its “poor methodology and weak data”. But it’s well funded, and threatens to undermine all we’ve achieved this year for this campaign.
Send your email to key decision maker Premier Denis Napthine asking him not to give in to Coke's bullying.
I am writing to urge you to stand firm on your commitment to Cash for Containers and not feel pressured by the bullying of soft drink giants led by Coca-Cola.
We know that this recycling scheme will benefit our environment, community groups, local council and save taxpayers money.
It's very clear to me that drinks industry advertising campaign is scaremongering at its worst. Good on you for standing up to them.
With your leadership and, I hope, with the support of NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell, I look forward to seeing Cash for Containers brought in across Victoria and indeed throughout Australia.
